Site update code uses Python
The web server is hosted at Siena College, and is a FreeBSD server running Apache with PHP and MySQL.
Mapping capabilities are provided by Leaflet with the extension and map tiles from various sources as indicated on the online maps
Geocoding capabilities use Nominatim.
Other JavaScript libraries in use include jQuery, and code adapted from MOUT, leaflet-control-window.
The shield generator uses Roadgeek Fonts.

Predecessor Project

Travel Mapping is the successor project to the dormant Clinched Highway Mapping (CHM) project, developed and operated by Timothy Reichard. Some underlying code and the initial highway data are based on CHM. The contributors listed above built on the work of CHM's Collaborators.
